Cyst Pimple: Understanding a Deep Skin Spot
Cyst Pimple: Understanding a Deep Skin Spot
A deep spot and a skin cyst are not the same
Acne can cause deep, tender spots, but the phrase cyst pimple is not a diagnosis. A persistent lump may have another cause. Recurrent painful spots, scarring or uncertainty about a lump warrant medical assessment.
Avoid making it worse
Do not squeeze, puncture or attempt to extract a deep spot. Scrubbing or applying vinegar, essential oils and kitchen mixtures can irritate skin and should not be used as a substitute for assessment. Do not wait for repeated home remedies to fail if symptoms are worsening.
What to explain at an appointment
Describe where the spots occur, how long they last, whether they leave marks and which products or medicines you already use. Mention effects on comfort and daily life. Treatment choices should follow an assessment; this page does not prescribe a medicine or offer an injection or laser procedure.
Cosmetic concerns and active symptoms
Appearance and residual marks can be discussed separately from painful or inflamed active lesions. A facial, exfoliating treatment or cosmetic package is not a substitute for managing a medical skin problem. Ask which current products to continue if the skin is irritated.
Changes that need advice
Seek medical advice for a growing, painful, hot, red or draining lump, or a sore that is not healing. Seek prompt care if symptoms worsen or you feel unwell. Do not wait for a cosmetic appointment or try to drain the area yourself.
