A Gentle Skincare Routine for Rosacea-Prone Skin

A Gentle Skincare Routine for Rosacea-Prone Skin

Gentle cleansing

Use a gentle cleanser that your skin tolerates, with lukewarm water and light fingertip contact. Avoid scrubbing, rough cloths and vigorous rubbing. A product does not have to foam or leave the skin feeling tight to clean it.

Moisturise without forcing a reaction

Choose a simple, fragrance-free moisturiser if it suits you. There is no universal requirement to apply products to damp skin or to add a serum, mask or multiple active ingredients. Stop a new cosmetic product that worsens burning or irritation, and seek advice if symptoms persist.

Do not add an exfoliation schedule

Rosacea-prone skin does not need a routine acid or scrub programme. Lactic, mandelic or other acids are not automatically gentle because of the ingredient name. Discuss any proposed cosmetic procedure and current medicines before proceeding; do not change prescriptions to fit a generic routine.

Protect and review

Use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher with shade and clothing. Optional makeup can disguise redness but does not treat it. Persistent symptoms need medical assessment, and eye pain, light sensitivity or vision changes require urgent care. Personal tolerance matters more than a supposedly perfect routine.
