Peeling Skin Around the Nose

Peeling Skin Around the Nose

Peeling around the nose may be linked to dryness or irritation, but its cause cannot be established from the location alone. Note whether the skin is itchy, sore, cracked or repeatedly affected, and whether a product or other exposure changed before it began.

Gentle care around the nose

Avoid pulling away flakes, scrubbing the area or using pore strips, peel-off masks or acids on sore skin. Wash gently with lukewarm water. A fragrance-free moisturiser that you tolerate may help dryness; stop a cosmetic that burns, stings or makes the irritation worse.

What about oils and home remedies?

Aloe, honey, coconut oil and other home ingredients are not a reliable way to identify or treat the cause of peeling. “Natural” does not guarantee suitability. Keep the routine simple rather than combining several remedies or assuming that a patch test rules out a reaction.

Recurring or worsening symptoms

Arrange medical advice if the peeling persists, keeps returning or worsens. Painful, swollen, blistering or extensively affected skin needs prompt assessment. Take product details and explain the timing; an assessment is more useful than choosing a treatment from the appearance alone.

A cosmetic peel is not the same problem

Unwanted peeling around the nose should not be treated as evidence that the area needs exfoliation or a professional peel. This page gives general care information and does not establish a medical diagnosis or advertise treatment of a skin condition.
